How do brands and advertisers view accounts that use bought followers?
I’m curious about how brands actually see influencer accounts that have a mix of real and bought followers. I’m growing my beauty page, and a friend suggested buying a small batch to look more “established.” But I’m worried agencies might notice and avoid working with me. Do brands really check that closely, or do they mostly care about engagement and content quality? I don’t want to ruin potential partnerships just for the numbers.

I’ve worked with a few small brands for promo posts, and most of them actually pay attention to engagement rates, not just follower count. I tried using instagram followers $1 early on to get some traction, but I focused on keeping my likes and comments organic. When a brand asked for insights, the numbers still looked normal because I stayed active with my audience. If the content is solid, most brands won’t dig too deep.
